'The need for genuine nutritional information has

never been greater'

With new research available about food and nutrition and with the increased rate of diseases of lifestyle, we as consumers are becoming more aware of the food we eat and what it is doing to our health. The thirst for nutritional information has never been greater.

We get mixed messages in the media and advertising which unfortunately influences our food choices, resulting in yoyo dieting or eliminating whole food groups which could be detrimental to our health.

The key to good nutrition; health and vitality is a combination of a healthy; balanced diet and exercise.

ABOUT ME

I graduated from the University of Natal, South Africa in 2000, after successfully completing a three year Bachelor of Science in Dietetics degree as well as a one year Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics.

Since completing my degree I have worked within the NHS in the United Kingdom, practicing as a clinical and community dietitian as well practicing food service management & catering in Verbier, Switzerland. I have always had a particular interest in sports nutrition and in 2003 I completed I course in exercise science and fitness instruction.

As a registered dietitian, I am qualified to treat a range of medical conditions with dietary therapy, help to promote nutritional wellbeing, and prevent nutrition-related problems, tailored to an individuals needs and based on the latest scientific evidence. As part of my service I offer ongoing support because a change in diet and lifestyle can be difficult for some and support is crucial in maintaining changes.

I am also skilled in planning and developing menus for catering companies and hospitals as well as providing nutritional analysis of meals and recipes. My experience in catering and hospitality has given me greater understanding of catering and food service.
With my scientific background in food, nutrition and exercise and my practical background in catering, I am able to offer my patients bespoke nutritional advice and a holistic approach to a healthy, active lifestyle.

I'm registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) in the UK (Reg. number DT.08407)

I'm also a member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA); Freelance Dietitians Group (FDG) and Asociacion Espanola de Dietistas-Nutricionistas (AEDN).
